Colophon is a web trade almanac — a classified directory of active web concerns, arranged by trade section and published for the convenience of the browsing public and the professional alike. The name is taken from the printer's note that closes a book, recording the hand behind the work. In that spirit, Colophon aims to be a transparent and honest record of what is currently trading on the web.
The almanac currently records 830 concerns across 22 sections, from the gaming establishments and wagering houses of the broadest section to the land agents and property firms of the smallest. Each entry has been assessed for basic web presence before listing; concerns that are no longer trading are removed from the record in due course.
New concerns may apply for a free listing by completing the submission form. Applications are reviewed against the almanac's basic criteria — an active and reachable web presence — before any entry is approved. The review process is not a commentary on the quality of the concern's trade; it is simply a check that the address listed is live and functioning.
The almanac is updated on a rolling basis. Trade conditions change, concerns open and close, and the web is never entirely still. Readers who find a listing that is out of date are welcome to bring it to the attention of the editorial office via the contact address on the submission page.
Colophon does not accept payment for placement, prominence, or category selection. All entries appear in the section appropriate to their primary trade. This policy is the foundation of whatever usefulness the almanac provides.
